You chose recruitment after graduation why?
“I wanted a role that offered me variety and a chance to work with lots of different people. I also really wanted a career which allowed me to be judged on my own merits in a targeted environment that was rewarding both personally and financially.”
Why Chase and Holland Recruitment?
“The more I found out about Chase and Holland’s ambition and drive, the more I wanted to know. As a business it appeared to have an ethical and honest approach with a service driven culture. With access to a lot of experience and training it was the right business for me.”
What have been your biggest challenges entering a career in recruitment?
“To begin with everything! It is just as I expected it to be - demanding, hardwork and constant. Although it is still all of these things, it is down to the new challenges that the business and I set myself. When I started 3 years ago the market was difficult and remaining positive was sometimes a challenge but working in a business that was so driven and supportive has meant I am a better consultant.
Finally, as we grow, the more people hear of us especially in our new markets (which I have played a part in developing). This continues to give me the challenge to do well and succeed.
What do you like about working for Chase and Holland Recruitment?
“I love the team environment and the fact that although we all have individual targets, the business truly works as one unit. Also in the last 3 years my aspirations have been met and the management team continue to share and deliver the ambition that we all share in the business.
It might sound obvious but at Chase and Holland we all have a say in how the business develops and grows. This open and honest culture means we get to play a part in the success of the business.”
What advice would you give someone thinking of coming into recruitment?
“You need to be prepared to work hard and not be too self conscious or worry about what other people might think. If you apply these principals you will enjoy the role more.”
