October 2008 - Derby office open for business!

In our last news update we mentioned that we were in the throws of opening a new office. Well, we are pleased to announce that our 2nd office is now open for business!

Our Derby office opened this month and will replicate the Chesterfield office in providing all levels of Finance and HR opportunities. Our new office will allow us to expand on the geographical patch we cover so will include Derby, Nottingham and surrounding areas.

To help us launch this new venture and to head up the Derby Finance team, we are extremely lucky to have a hugely talented and experienced individual joining us. Lydia comes to us with a number of years in recruitment – the majority of which are within the Finance field. She is passionate about her work and can’t wait to start developing some strong long term working relationships with clients and candidates alike.

Lydia will work in close conjunction with Vikki who continues to head up the HR opportunities. Towards the end of 2008 Lydia will begin to start expanding her team so if you are already in Finance recruitment, or have a genuine passion to work in specialist recruitment, Lydia would be keen to hear from you.

August 2008 - It’s just all go go go at Chase and Holland

Well here we are, nearly a year and a half into trading and so far, so very good. It was apparent at the end of 2007 that Ian, Vikki and Jackie were going to need more help so after completing a number of rigorous and frankly hardcore ‘make your brain ache’ interviews, David joined us to help expand the business. The workload that we created was overwhelming – so much so that a bigger office was needed as well as more staff. After some further rigorous interviews and selection processes (will Ian never learn), Kayley came on board in July to help Ian and David push the Finance brand even further forward.

August signifies the arrival of our first dedicated temporary/contract Finance consultant. Jo’s arrival at Chase and Holland is the latest addition to the team and she will focus on the temporary and contract market across South Yorkshire, Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire (guessing you’ll be quite busy then Jo). Jo will work closely with the existing team and brings with her some solid experience within the Finance recruitment field.

As well as ensuring everyone receives a comprehensive and structured training programme, Vikki’s remit is now to forge ahead in developing the new HR brand with plans to recruit an HR consultant to work with her late 2008/early 2009.

What’s next? Well, never a team to sit on our laurels, our next challenge will be the launch of office number two later this year. Where and who with? We’ll keep you posted.

August 2008 - Testing times at Chase and Holland

Chase and Holland are pleased to announce the introduction of Psychometric Testing for Finance and HR appointments.

Having listened to our clients and from conducting our own market research, we have found that there is often a need to find out a little more about potential employees and their personality/work traits – obviously something that is very important when we spend so much of our waking life at work!

Working closely with Thomas International, we are now able to offer clients the option (normally prior to second interview stage) of getting applicants to complete a short test (which can be done in the comfort of their own home) which then provides the client with an exceptionally detailed synopsis of the applicant. This can then be used as a discussion tool at interview.

This new facility continues to demonstrate our commitment to providing a first rate service – something that we are very passionate about and will continue to be for a very long time to come!

July 2008 - Chase and Holland Chesterfield relocate!

We are pleased to announce that Chase and Holland Chesterfield have moved to new offices in the town centre.

Due to the increase in both workload and headcount we urgently required more space which unfortunately our previous office at Saltergate just was not able to provide.

Our new West Bars House office provides us with this needed space – much of which has already been taken up with new consultants and more of which will be taken up with the new recruits that join us later this year.

For those of you who may not be familiar with the town centre and who may need to find us, we are based directly opposite The Portland Hotel and above Botham’s estate agents.

Our new move indicates that we are continuing to provide a professional, honest and reputable service to candidates and clients alike - and that we are very much here for the long term.

June 2008 - Chase and Holland launch HR brand

“Having already established strong working relationships with a number of HR/recruitment functions whilst developing our successful Finance brand, it was a natural next step for our 2nd brand to specialise in the recruitment of all HR related vacancies. Having had a background in internal training and development within the recruitment field I plan for this new brand to replicate the values of Passion, Honesty and Innovation that has made our Finance brand so successful” Vikki Holland Director - Human Resources.

With the Human Resources/recruitment function taking an ever increasing presence in organisations, it is imperative that the people within these teams are the crème de la crème. It is more often that not the case that HR professionals are key people when it comes to the recruitment and the interview process and therefore for them to be able to positively influence and sell their business to prospective employees it is essential that they believe in the business that they work for.

As with the finance brand we cater for all levels of the HR discipline – from entry level HR administrators through to CIPD qualified Directors. Of course as with any other discipline there are many different roles and duties that can be considered – Chase and Holland will ensure that their current and successful flexible approach to vacancies will ensure that we cater for all areas that fall within the HR function.
