Mechanical & Electrical Buyer – Sheffield - £35k-£40k Salary + £5k Car Allowance + Flexi Hours + Hybrid Working
Chase & Holland are excited to be working with a rapidly growing industry leading business in Sheffield who are looking for a Mechanical & Electrical Buyer to join their team.
This key role will see you take ownership of the purchasing needs for the business and you will work closely with the Head of Supply Chain and provide support to the junior members of the team.

Mechanical & Electrical Buyer Responsibilities:
- Liaising with key colleagues and forecasting levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeping a constant check on stock levels
- Negotiating pricing contracts with subcontractors and materials suppliers
- Converting requisitions raised by internal colleagues to purchase orders and issuing to suppliers after completing price check analysis
- Conducting research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
- Identifying potential suppliers and building and maintaining good relationships with them
- Negotiating and agreeing contracts and monitoring their progress, checking the quality of service provided
- Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities
- Producing reports and statistics using demonstrating purchasing trends and maximising buying opportunities
- Evaluating bids and making recommendations based on commercial and technical factors
- Arranging supplier review meetings with agendas, creating minutes and ensuring suppliers are aware of business objectives
- Attending meetings and trade conferences
- Training and supervising the work of other members of staff
- Uploading new M&E products onto Greentree and maintain accuracy of the existing list of inventory including but not limited to fit rates and net prices
Hours: 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday (flexi time)
Required Skills & Experience:
- Previous Mechanical & Electrical purchasing experience
- Skilled negotiator
- Strong MRP experience and Excel (Pivot tables / Vlookups)
- Have problem solving skills
- Ability to build strong working relationships internally and externally
