- Managing the full spectrum of payroll activities, from routine tasks to more complex calculations
- Processing starters, leavers, SSP, SMP, holiday pay and carrying out HMRC submissions
- Overseeing overtime, shift allowances and ensuring compliance with NMW and statutory legislation
- Administering pension auto-enrolment and ensuring all processes meet current legislation
- Handling payroll queries related to NI, tax and auto-enrolment
- Extracting and validating T&A data to ensure accuracy before upload
- Completing P11Ds, pension reporting and supporting year-end payroll audits
- Contributing to continuous improvement by reviewing and enhancing payroll processes
- Setting up new payrolls where required
- Proven technical payroll experience, including RTI, SSP, SMP and Auto Enrolment
- Strong IT skills with the ability to learn new systems quickly (experience with iTrent is an advantage)
- High attention to detail and accuracy when processing weekly and monthly payrolls
- A methodical approach, able to work to strict deadlines and support ongoing process improvement
