Covid 10 Experts Really!

I am not keen on rants but bare with me. I have been amazed over the last 3 months (yes it really has been 3 months) how great so many people have been in helping each other through this. However the one thing that has slowly been winding me up is the number of COVID-19 experts who are cropping up with headlines like “How to be awesome in the current pandemic” (I made that title up).

To begin with I actually did sign up to a number of the webinars as like most business owners or decision makers I felt the need to gather as much information as possible. I wanted to make sure I was making the best decisions for the business and the people in Chase & Holland.

My findings where interesting and my suspicions confirmed no one person knows more than another really on how to deal with this crisis. In fact, the most precious resource I have had to date is speaking to clients, contacts, my network and friends. Comparing notes with all of these people has been my best source of learning so far.

In terms of the experts, they all say the things that most people already know i.e. cash is king, adapt and change, etc, etc. At some point I guess we all have to be brave enough to make our own decisions on the knowledge we have and our best instincts.

For Chase & Holland the last 3 months have been about making sure we protect our people first, our cash second and our business third. It has been these simple 3 pillars that have seen us through to date. In fact, I am pleased to announce that we are hoping to be fully open for business again from 1st of July. I hasten to add that as a number of you will know we never closed but have been operating on a skeleton staff like many of our clients.
