What does Recruiting the Right Person Mean?

What does Recruiting the Right Person Mean?

In our industry just now we are commonly being told that clients have access to many excellent candidates. Therefore they do not need to use our services.

I have always found this an interesting argument because my challenge back is always the same. If the number of candidates have increased it is because the challenges in business have also increased. If this is the case then the candidate you thought was right or the best you could have recruited before has probably changed.

With this in mind at Chase & Holland we are asking our clients to look at a comparison candidate and challenge their businesses to look for a candidate that is not easy to access. At the end of the day our job is not just to save time, although over the next few months we may have less time once the true enormity of the task at hand is revealed. When things change so rapidly our job is also to give access to candidates that can’t be found in the normal methods and the right person who will help to ensure the right path for your business.

At the end of the day you are not going to pay a fee if all we can do is provide you with the people you already have access to with all other things being equal. Now is the time for all of us to ensure our businesses recruit the best/right person every time so that we don’t just survive but thrive.

Like everyone I am anxious about a number of aspects of the new normal but I am also very excited about the prospects of what can be as well. I believe if you are recruiting then the first thing you should do is challenge Chase & Holland to give you better than you can get direct. I know some will say well you would say that but actually you have nothing to lose in allowing us the opportunity to try.

The right person is the difference between the good and the great businesses.
