Interim Commercial Finance Manager – Sheffield – Up to £70,000

This is a key role within the finance function, offering a broad remit across commercial finance, management and financial accounting, business partnering, financial controls and process improvement. Reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance, you will work closely with senior commercial and operational stakeholders, providing meaningful financial insight and supporting effective business decision-making.

Reporting into the Head of Commercial Finance, you will work closely with senior commercial and operational stakeholders, providing meaningful financial insight and supporting effective business decision-making.
The Role:
- Acting as a financial lead across management and financial accounting
- Business partnering with key commercial stakeholders, providing insight and explaining financial performance
- Providing commercial decision support to aid effective business decisions
- Managing and developing a team of four direct reports
- Taking ownership of key balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls
- Consolidating financial forecasts and providing clear analysis of actual and forecast variances
- Continuously reviewing and improving financial systems, controls and processes
- Supporting the Head of Commercial Finance and deputising when required
- Supporting wider business change and finance improvement initiatives
- Challenging existing processes and working practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and relevant external parties
- Supporting ad hoc commercial and finance projects as required
The Ideal Candidate:
- A qualified accountant – CIMA, ACCA or ACA
- Strong experience within commercial finance and/or finance business partnering
- Good knowledge of financial controls, compliance and IFRS
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse information and provide meaningful insight
- Previous experience managing and developing a finance team
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- A proactive approach with the ability to challenge, influence and drive improvements
