The Role:
Working closely with the Commercial Accountant, you'll take responsibility for producing monthly management accounts across multiple trading entities, providing financial insight and supporting business performance. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, managing competing priorities and partnering with operational teams.
- Preparing accurate monthly management accounts, including P&L, balance sheet and cash movement reporting
- Producing journals including payroll, accruals, prepayments, stock, work in progress and provisions
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining strong financial controls
- Producing project and contract profitability reporting
- Supporting monthly forecasting and annual budgeting processes
- Analysing financial data to provide meaningful commercial insight
- Working closely with operational teams to ensure accurate allocation of income and costs
- Supporting year-end processes and responding to audit requests
- Assisting with process improvements and finance system enhancements
- Supporting wider finance activities, including statutory payments, intercompany reconciliations and debtor management where required
About You:
- Experience producing full monthly management accounts
- Strong knowledge of journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines in a busy environment
- Strong communication skills with the confidence to build relationships across finance and operational teams
- Good systems knowledge and strong Excel skills
